Dune, the acclaimed Sci-Fi saga authoured by Frank Herbert is getting a reboot. Brian Herbert a Sci-Fi author and son of Frank Herbert and a Sci-Fi author on his own, announced on Twitter that Denis Villeneuve will direct the new screen version of the acclaimed novel for Legendary Pictures.
David Lynch had adapted the bestselling novel with the same name into a movie in 1984, starring Kyle MacLachlan and Virginia Madsen.
For some time now, the Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Prisoners, Enemy and Blade Runner 2049) was rumoured to helm the reboot of the movie. His 'Arrival' had picked up eight nominations at the 89th Academy Awards.
Villeneuve has also directed 'Blade Runner 2049', the sequel to Ridley Scott's dystopian masterpiece, 'Blade Runner' (1982).

The 1965 Nebula award-winning novel is set in an interstellar community where noble families control planets. The story is about Paul Atreides, who struggles to regain control of the planet Arrakis, which was controlled by his family.
