WASHINGTON: It's been two years since ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ was released and fans have so many questions that need answering by ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.

But Lucas film president Kathleen Kennedy feels that Rian Johnson, director of ‘The Last Jedi’, will leave fans with unanswered questions, according to Contactmusic.com.

While talking about Johnson's direction with the series on ‘The Star Wars Show’, Kennedy said, “I think he's done an exceptional job of taking these new characters and some of the legacy characters and moving us to this next place.”

Adding, “He doesn't answer all the questions, I will say that up front. But there are certain questions he does answer in a really wonderfully provocative way, and I think there'll be some surprises that people aren't expecting.”

Kennedy still thinks viewers are going to be surprised by a couple of twists and turns that are coming fans’ way.

Recently, Kennedy also revealed that ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ is not going to be the end for Rey, Finn or other characters introduced in ‘The Force Awakens’.

She said, “We're sitting down now, we're talking about the next 10 years of Star Wars stories, and we're looking at, narratively, where that might go. Future stories beyond Episode IX with these new characters: Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8, but we're also looking at working with people who are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us places we haven't been yet.”

The eighth installment, ‘The Last Jedi’, in the epic sci-fi franchise ‘Star Wars’ will hit theatres on December 15.

Helmed by Johnson, ‘The Last Jedi’ stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Late Carrie Fisher, and Adam Driver in pivotal roles.
