It has all the elements necessary to keep the audience happy. Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh's film Lift Kodla, which is a re-make of the Telugu movie Mee Shreyobhilaashi, is set to release on Friday.

Director Ashok Kashyap has made a lot of changes to the Telugu version, where Rajendra Prasad played the lead role, according to producer Shankara Reddy, whose family owns educational institutions and has a real estate business in Bangalore.

“It (Lift Kodla) sends out the much-needed message to people who feel like committing suicide. Many students, housewives and businessmen committed suicide for various reasons. Lift Kodla tells people that they have to face the problems instead of running away from them,” says Reddy.

The cast includes, apart from Jaggesh, Archana Gupta, Komal, Mandeep Rai and Shashikumar, who makes a comeback with this film after two years. Shashikumar has played the role of a police officer, a part enacted by Nazar in the Telugu version.

“Jaggesh's brother Komal plays the part of a film producer who becomes bankrupt after making a few movies. His character will be an eye-opener for producers who want to commit suicide after incurring loss in film making. We expect this film to bring down suicides by 10 per cent,” said Reddy, adding that people have to realise that life is God's gift.

The producer is making arrangements to release the film at 70 theatres across Karnataka.
