A midst rumours that his Nivin Pauly-starrer has been dropped, filmmaker Lal  Jose said he would be teaming up with Sreenivasan and Mohanlal this year.  However, it will be for two separate films.

It will be Lal Jose’s get together with Sreenivasan after 18 years, post his  debut ‘Oru Maravathoor Kanav’ in 1998.

“Sreeniyettan is writing the film and he will be doing a prominent role.  Meanwhile, Benny P Nairambalam has started the work of my first Mohanlal  film. Both the films are in a writing stage and shooting will commence when  the script is completed. This will happen in the second half of this year,”  Lal Jose said.

This will be the third outing of Lal Jose with Sreenivasan (as actor) and Benny P Nairambalam. Sreenivasan played the lead in his ‘Arabikkatha’ and

a major role in ‘Puram Kazhchakal’, a short film in the anthology

‘Kerala Cafe’. He also played a major role in ‘Oru Maravathoor Kanav’.

With Benny P Nairambalam, Lal Jose has a major hit ‘Chanthupottu’ as well as a flop ‘Spanish Masala’, both with Dileep as the lead.

Super hit ‘Chhotta Mumbai’ directed by Anwar Rasheed, which released nine years back is the sole film he wrote with Mohanlal in lead, till date.

No issues with Nivin Pauly

Brushing aside the news on issues with Nivin Pauly,  Lal Jose said: “It’s  true that Nivin and I were planning to do a movie together with a script written by Bobby-Sanjay. However, both of us found that it has to be developed more. Hence, we decided to shelve it for the time-being. It was a mutual decision and there is no truth in the rumours that there is a rift between us”.

“Those who create these type of gossips must remember that that LJ Films is  distributing next two films of Nivin Pauly, ‘Action Hero Biju’ that will hit theatres this week and ‘Jacobinte Swargarajyam’ in Vishu season. If there was any issue between us, would this have happened?” he asked.
