The trailer of Rosshan Andrews' magnum opus, 'Kayamkulam Kochunni', has been released. The movie features Nivin Pauly in the titular role while Mohanlal plays 'Ithikkara Pakki'.

Lal's character as Kochunni's ally and mentor is rumoured to be an extended cameo.

The video was shared on Monday by superstar Mohanlal on his facebook page.

The Facebook post has already garnered more than 51k likes in two hours.

The female lead is played by Priya Anand. Babu Antony, Sunny Wayne, and Priyanka Thimmesh appear in supporting roles.

Binod Pradhan, popular for his work in films such as "Rang De Basanti" and "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", makes his Malayalam debut with the film.

Directed by Rosshan Andrews, 'Kayamkulam Kochunni' is based on the real-life 19th century Robin-Hoodish highwayman of central Travancore.

The legend of Kochunni was popularised by the stories compiled by author Kottarathil Sankunni in the late 19th century.

Produced by Gokulam Gopalan, the film has a reported budget of Rs 45 crores. Rosshan Andrrews' frequent collaborator Bobby-Sanjay has penned the script.
