Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani have been completely mum about the central theme of "PK" and the protagonist of the film. But Aamir has said that "PK" is one of the toughest characters of his career.

At a recent press conference, Aamir spoke about why this role was special and especially challenging. "In terms of physicality we brought in things like he doesn't blink and keeps his hands to the side when running. But the biggest challenge for me was to get into the head of the character. The language was also a challenge. My character is a Bhojpuri speaking character so I had to train and get the phonetics right. I memorized all the lines phonetically. It took me three to four months to own those lines and make them my own," said Aamir.

"I don't think Raju and Abhijat Joshi, the writers of the film intended it that way, but he is somehow very Chaplinesque as a character when I see him," Aamir added.
