Roy: Slow and Steady Might Not Win the Race This Time

The movie was extremely slow and the worst part, Ranbir was only a showpiece to gather crowds to the theatre as he was given minimal role.

Nibedita Mohanta

Movie: Roy
Genre:  Romance-thriller
Director: Vikramjit Singh
Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anupam Kher
Rating:  2/5

The movie is about a writer- director Kabir played by Arjun Rampal, who is trying hard for his story that even the audience is feeling hard to gulp down the most awaited movie of Ranbir, as he was missing in the year 2014.

Jacqueline was seen playing a double role of a famous film maker, Ayesha Amir and a gorgeous actress Tia. As the movie moves the writer finds his inspiration in the face of the film maker, and thus the movie, he is directing runs parallel to his life, where the thief Roy tries to play with Tia and after stealing the master piece he falls in love with her, same as the Kabir falls for Ayesha.

When Ayesha came to know that Kabir was trying to extract his script from her life, she feels betrayed and thus leaves, Kabir was left stranded and realizes that he, who considers himself as the biggest writer is actually in the middle of nowhere and after he loses his dad he comes back to reality and finishes his story after going back to Malaysia.

The movie turns out to be a great hit and Roy advices him to finish the actual story of both of them and they both go back to their respective female partners and end their story to carry on their love story.

The film makers of Roy have actually played a lot with the background, music and intensity. The movie was extremely slow and the worst part, Ranbir was only a showpiece to gather crowds to the theatre as he was given minimal role. The story was revolving around Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez.

First half was so confusing that it would force the audience to sit to know the solution rather the movie was draggy towards the end. Overall the movie missed its plot but it was a nice watch for art lovers. The scenes were crisp and elegant. The music is mesmerizing.
