Radhika Apte has become the breakthrough actress of 2015 after her much appreciated performances in Badlapur and Hunterrr. Not only has Radhika bagged upcoming films with Anurag  Basu and  Sujoy  Ghosh, but she also has yet another off-the-beaten-track film coming up this year in Ketan Mehta’s Manjhi - The Mountain Man. Radhika reveals: “I was like ‘I have to get this part!’ I auditioned for the film because it’s an inspiring story and I wanted to be a part of it.”

The film is a romantic venture about a poor man (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who digs a mountain as an expression of love for his wife (Radhika). But Radhika had a rather strange experience while romancing Nawazuddin.

The actress recalls, “When we had to do romantic scenes, Nawaz used to be very quiet and would sit in one corner. I asked our director Ketan Mehta, ‘Why he is not talking to me ... doesn’t he like me?’”

Fortunately, Radhika found Nawaz’s reticence didn’t have any effect on his performance. “Once the director said ‘action,’ Nawaz would transform into a romantic.”
