KARACHI: Don’t misunderstand it to be a Dubsmash, rather it’s an alternate rendition of Pakistani singer Taher Shah’s second hit single ‘Angel’ and this time it’s done by none other than the heart-throb Ali Zafar.

Stripped of all musical accompaniment, the 35-year-old singer-actor’s soul-stirring dramatic reading of the song highlights the lyrical genius of one of Pakistan’s biggest viral sensations, reports the Dawn.

Zafar took to his Twitter handle to share his version of ‘Angel’ and wrote alongside, “Lived through "Eye to eye". Couldn't resist this. My rendition of the "Angel" by #TaherShah.”

The release of Taher Shah’s new video on April 8 caused such a social media frenzy that #TaherShah stated trending on Twitter in Pakistan, India and the UK.

Over 44,000 tweets have been posted since the song Angel was released.

Shah grew to fame, rather made it into the world of Internet memes, with his first song and the ‘pop sensation,’ as his own website puts it, ‘Eye to eye.’
