MUMBAI: Parineeti Chopra, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming film, Jabariya Jodi, has begun work on her next. The film, an official Hindi remake of the Hollywood thriller, The Girl on the Train, went on floors on Sunday.

The yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, and also feature Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, and Avinash Tiwari in important roles. Set in the UK, Parineeti will be stepping into the shoes of Emily Blunt, who made memorable the role of an alcoholic divorcee who finds herself in trouble after getting involved in a missing person’s case.

Announcing the start of his new film on social media, Dasgupta said, “Hopping on to a train today with Parineeti Chopra.”

Bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment, the film is expected to release in 2020.
