BANGALORE: Yogesh, who got the nickname Loose Mada after playing a character with that name in his maiden film Dhuniya, has a lot of hope about his forthcoming film Yaksha.

“I am confident about Yaksha succeeding at the box office. I have given my best during the shooting,” said Yogesh, whose maiden film as hero, Nanda Loves Nandita, made him famous overnight. Another film, Ambaari, made him as the most sought after hero in Sandalwood. However, his other films Ravana and Punda failed at the box office. Now, Yogesh feels his luck will turn again.

Yogesh reportedly had to remove the hair on his body to apply paint for a particular song sequence. “I will never forget how much Yogesh cooperated in the shooting of that song sequence, where his body was painted like that of a tiger,” said director Ramesh R Bhagavatar.

Yaksha is Bhagavatar’s maiden film as director. Bhagavatar began his career as a lyricist in 1992 and graduated to being a dialogue writer. “My first film as lyricist was Love Training, in which Kashinath was the hero. I made a debut as dialogue writer with the film O Mallige, which was directed by V Manohar,” he recalled. The actor said that Nana Patekar has played a key role in Yaksha, while Atul Kulkarni has provided good support. “Nana Patekar Sir participated in the shooting for 13 days. He is a great artiste. I respect his commitment and dedication towards his work. He used to practise Kannada dialogues before facing the camera,” he said.

The other specialty of Yaksha, whose audio was launched recently, is that its audio mastering was done at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Ruby Parihar of Delhi makes her debut as a heroine in Sandalwood with this film. “She has acted in the Telugu film Prasthaanam recently,” Yogesh said. Tamil actress Sharanya also plays an important character role in this film, which is expected to hit the theatres in September.
