Prajwal Devaraj and Ragini Dwivedi are all set to act in an action-oriented film Kote, which will be their first project together.
Srinivasa Raju, who handled the megaphone for Prajwal’s film Nannavanu, is the director while Manju alias Jack Manju, who made Deadly- 2, has agreed to provide finance for this film.
The unit members, including music director Raghu Dixit, have high expectations on this film since they are desperate for a success in Sandalwood.
Raghu Dixit composed music for a few films but none of them made a positive impact on the box office. Srinivasaraju, who directed Nannavanu, also needs a hit badly, after Kannada audience did not receive that film well. Prajwal also needed a success since all his films, except Sixer, failed at the box office. The upcoming actress Ragini too needed a success in Sandalwood since three of her films - Holi, Gandedhe and Shankar IPS - failed to impress the Kannada movie buffs.
Producer Manju also needed a success to recover the loss incurred from his recent film Deadly-2. Expecting Kote to become a success at the box office, Manju said that he was not able to understand the logic behind the failure of his recent film Deadly-2. He said the only disadvantage of that film was the lack of comedy and song sequences. ‘‘A few artistes of that film had interacted with most of the audience. No one has expressed disappointment over the film. The media had also appreciated the film. Yet, I incurred a loss of ` 20 lakh from that film,’’ said Manju.
He said that director Srinivasaraju has been advised not to compromise with the quality of the film. ‘‘I have decided to provide all facilities to the director to make Kote a memorable film,’’ said the producer.
If everything goes as per plan, the regular shooting of Kote is expected to commence at Hubli from September 17.
