Pre-Release hype and tall claims from the director Sanjeevkumar Megoti himself, failed to impress the audience entirely.

With Aaptha, Pooja’s fans expected her to retain her position in the industry as a successful heroine. If the quality of the movie is any indication, it is set to be added to the list of Pooja’s films that crashed at the box office beyond redemption.

As a director, Megoti has failed miserably. His style of narration is far from satisfactory. Screenplay is extremely poor and the characters appear and disappear from the silver screen like uninvited guests.

As far as Neeraj Sham is concerned, he has a long way to go before attempting to act as a hero in films. He doesn’t seem to know the difference between romance and tragedy.

It is high time for Pooja to realise the importance of being selective while accepting offers if she wants to retain her position in Sandalwood.

Her performance, in one particular scene, where en route to a medical college, chewing sugarcane and carrying luggage, looks incongruous.

She comes to the city in a private bus to join the medical college but asks the hero, an illiterate, to apply for daily bus pass to commute between the village and the city.

What a joke! The other disadvantage of this film are the nauseating comedy sequences.

Sadhu Kokila, as a beggar, tries to make the audience giggle for a while in vain. Bullet Prakash, as a make-up expert, has also failed in his assignment.

The movie is about childhood friends Vijay (Neeraj Sham) and Anjali Devi (Pooja Gandhi) in a village.

Vijay sacrifices a lot to ensure that Anjali Devi pursues higher education.

She comes to the city to join a medical college. She happens to stay with four medical students Maanasi, Poonam, Bhavyakala and Pragna in the hostel who make her life miserable.

Circumstances compel her to commit suicide. With a weak plot and bizarre characters, Aaptha is a complete disaster.
