BANGALORE: Aindrita Ray has embroiled herself yet again in a controversy. This time the actress refused to promote her film ‘Dhool’, starring Yogesh in the lead role.

The shooting of the film was completed six months ago but its audio function was held recently. Aindrita and Yogesh were supposed to be the chief guests at the function. However, Aindrita did not turn up for the event.

"She had agreed to attend the function but did not even care even to receive my phone calls. I called her so many times but she did not reply. Everything was alright when we were shooting for ‘Dhool’ but things took an ugly turn when she refused to participate in the promotional work of the film,'' said director Purushotham.

Apparently when Yogesh contacted her, she told him she was in Goa with her friends. "It is not my business to find out where she is. I want to know why she has not turned up at the function. Is it not her responsibility to promote her own film? If not the heroine, who else?” asked Purushotham.

It may be recalled here her infamous tiff with director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar during the shooting of ‘Nooru Janmaku’. Later, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and Rebel Star Ambareesh had to mediate between Aindrita and Chandrasekhar to find an amicable solution.

It was also reported that Aindrita used to spend hours together in the make-up room during the shooting of ‘Veera Parampare’. The unit members of the film said director Narayan was annoyed with her behavior on the sets but restrained himself from making it public.

Aindrita was, however, not available for comment.
