This movie fails to impress

BANGALORE: Dashamukha, with its high profile star cast has failed to impress the audiences with its story line and dialogues. The non-action oriented film was extremely boring in its content.

The story is based on a 20-year-old-boy, Agni (Chetan of Aa Dinagalu film) who is accused of killing his father (Sudarshan). After nine months of trial, the court appoints 10 juries, Dashamukha (V Ravichandran, Ananthnag, Devraj, Avinash, Malavika, Dattatreya, Saritha, AchuthKumar, Praveen and Ravi Kaale) from diverse backgrounds to discuss the issue among them and come to a

conclusion.

Nine juries in the beginning come with a unanimous judgment that the defendant is guilty, while Ravindranath (Ravichandran) argues that Agni is innocent.

The story revolves around Ravindranath who tries to convince the other jury members, that the accused is innocent, by bringing into focus the minute details that are important in the case.

The film has tried to add the fictional elements including decision by the court to appoint jury, which is not present in the Indian context. Chetan has a cameo role to play, though the film is based on his action. Akanksha’s (who plays Agni’s lover in the film) role is unnecessary. She is just an addition in the long list of actors cast, as the film could have been shot even without her role. Some of the dialogues in the film are vague and not related to the discussion. In fact, first half of the film causes mental fatigue. Most part of the film is shot in the jury room. Director Ravi Srivatsa has shot the film with minimum budget. The film is a drag at every point as it is flooded with mundane dialogues. As the film casts Ravichandran and if you expect any glamour or songs featuring girls with glamorous roles, then you will be thoroughly disappointed. Ravichandran, tries to save the life of a boy, unlike his other movies shot with rich and colourful sets. South Indian actress Saritha has made a comeback to Kannada film industry after a very long time. Ananthnag has given his best to the role. Devraj, Achuth Kumar and Malavika have done a phenomenal job too. But Avinash is seen unnecessarily losing his temper against a community.

Ravi Srivatsa seems to be inspired by the Hollywood film 12 Angry Men. Producer Soorappa Babu has chosen the wrong film to produce casting Ravichandran and other top stars of Kannada film industry.

Overall the film is very boring failing to impress audience. Rating: 2 ½ stars
