Aindrita gets it right again

It looks like the pairing of Diganth and Aindrita Ray is the jodi of the year as their outing in their latest movie ‘Parijatha’ too has received good reviews from the audience. The pair was last seen in the movie ‘Manasaare’ in 2009. ‘Parijatha’ is a romantic film directed by Prabhu Srinivas and has Aindrita Ray and Diganth in the lead roles. She spoke to City Express on collaborating with Diganth again and her experience of working with director Prabhu Srinivas.

Aindrita Ray was offered several movies with Diganth after ‘Manasaare’. But, she waited for the right script before choosing ‘Parijatha’. And then she grabbed the opportunity. She said, “Working with him was just co-incidental. Every heroine who works with Diganth compliments him for his simplicity. He does not interfere with work and is very down-to-earth.”

With two back-to-back romantic comedies, was she worried about being typecast? “It is far from true. The directors have given completely different treatment to the movies,” she said. According to her, Yogaraj Bhat had given a natural twist to the story, one in which the audience could relate with the film and its characters. Whereas working in ‘Parijatha’ was different.

“It is a different experience to work with various directors. In ‘Parijatha’, the film is well-scripted and choreographed. As director Prabhu has a good sense of humour, he has tried to inculcate this quality in his movie quite well. And the comedy delivered too is not clichéd. The director has experimented with something new,” she said. Aindrita, who has sported a traditional look in ‘Parijatha’, plays the role of a tutor who makes the protagonist, ‘a bag of lazy bones’, aware of his responsibilities.

Music director Mano Murthy has composed music for this film. So is she happy with the project? And she laughs out loud. “My friends and family are the first ones to pick out negatives in a movie if there are any. But in this movie, there was not a single error in terms of its looks, performance, music or the direction of the film.”

Her family and friends have admired her latest work. Well, Aindrita, the audience too seem to enjoy the show.
