The so called new age masala songs of Sandalwood haven’t been able to replace timeless numbers like Ollage Seridare Gundu and Koogo Kolige Kaara Masale sung by Manjula Gururaj. Now the singer is back with another masala song Naatikoli, botigoju, naati hudugi, non veg to enthrall the audiences.Parul Yadav has been roped in to shake a leg for the item number. It is a completely folk based  song with lyrics written by professor M Krishne Gowda.

“The last song I sang was for the movie Kamsale Kaisale directed by TS Nagabharana. I am singing an item song nearly after a decade,” says Manjula, who is open to all genres but is apprehensive of vulgar lyrics. “I usually avoid taking up songs which have some vulgar lyrics. I will definitely not take up projects that send out a wrong message. We have some responsibility as singers,” she said.

Director Manju Swaraj of Shravani Subramanya is quite thrilled to have the singer onboard. “Usually we have the tunes ready followed by lyrics but in this case we had the lyrics written first by Krishne Gowda. This song will definitely be on demand at various competitions and stage programmes,” said Manju who along with his team took five days to erect a huge set up. “We took only two days only for the lighting. Since it is a dance number, we will have around 40 males and 50 female dancers with 200 juniors on the sets,” he added.
