It won’t be wrong to say that Brindavana is one of the fastest made and released films in Darshan’s career. The shooting of the film started on February 16 and it will be released on September 26 in over 150 screens across the state. It has been awarded a U/A certificate by the censor board.
This speedy completion was made possible because of director K Madesh’s disciplined approach to filmmaking. He saw to it that Brindavana was shot as per schedule including its on-location schedules in Iceland.” This film has at least 50 - 51 artistes working in it and we didn’t want a clash their individual schedules. Taking this into account, we planned everything. This is how a film should be made. It’s no use building a hype around a movie and then releasing it two years later. Releasing a film in time helps retain its freshness,” says Madesh.
Though Brindavana is a remake, the director has made sure he brings in a local flavour in the Kannada version. “We have made a lot of changes in the story. The charaterisation of Darshan’s role and those of other artistes has ensured that Kannada culture is at the forefront. We took only what was necessary from the Telugu original. The audience will not be able to tell that Brindavana is a remake,” Madesh asserts.
The combination of Madesh and music director V Harikrishna has proved to be a hit one so far, and the director is confident that this film too will recreate their magic. “The soundtrack that was recently released is already being hailed as a chartbuster. As a musician and director, ours is the most successful combination in the Kannada industry,” he says.
Madesh credits producer Suresh Gowda for making it all possible. “A producers involvement really helps in making a good film. Of course, everyone’s co-operation is important. The budget of Brindavana has reached `10 crore, making it one of the costliest films in Sandalwood and it was possible only because of Suresh Gowda. As for Darshan, Madesh says, “I have been watching him since the time he started his film career and his graph has only been on the rise. He is a big star today and Brindavana too has been made according to his image.” He is also all praise for actress Karthika Nair, who debuts with this film. “She has a lot of passion for her work and she comes across as a good performer,” Madesh says.
