Director P Vasu is all set to start shooting the Kannada remake of the Malayalam hit Drishyam from March 11 in Coorg. While he had chosen to cast Ravichandran in Mohanlal’s role, the director has selected Navya Nair for the role played by Meena. Illayaraja has been roped in to compose the tunes of the film.

Navya, an established actor in Mollywood, has also been a part of Kannada films like Gaja, Boss and Namm Yejamaanru before she got married to Santosh Menon. The actress will make a comeback to filmdom with this project. Confirming the news, director Vasu said, “Yes, I have confirmed on casting Navya Nair in the movie. Since this movie, which is a family drama, needed middle-aged actors, I thought she would fit the bill. I zeroed in on her after considering five to six other actors. She is also a good classical dancer and she is sure garner attention with her comeback film.”

Actor Meena, who was in the original, could not be a part of the Kannada remake as she has signed up for a Telugu movie opposite Venkatesh. Navya Nair was last seen in 2012 in the Malayalam film Scene Onnu Nammude Veedu.
