Senior Kannada star Jaggesh is currently busy with his directorial film, Melkote Manja, which is now going through the edits. He will also get busy from next week for a song shoot and scenes from his upcoming film Vaastu Prakara directed by Yogaraj Bhat.

We hear that Jaggesh has also made a guest appearance in Dove directed by Santosh, which sees Sa Ra Govindu’s son, Anup making his acting debut along with Aditi Rao.

“I have known Sa Ra Govindu for a long time and have seen Anup since he was a child. Thus, when they came up to me and requested me to be a part of their film, I readily agreed,” says Jaggesh.

However, in spite of things going well for the senior actor, Jaggesh is in no mood to talk about his upcoming flick, Software Ganda, despite it being ready for release.

He says, “I have washed my hands of Software Ganda because I felt the producers of the film are very weak and have no enthusiasm in releasing it with the fanfare that it deserves. I watched the final cut and it has come out really well. Even though there is a lot of expectation from Software Ganda, the producers are not coming forward to promote the film in the right way and this will affect the release. However, I alone can’t do everything for the film. As a result of this apathy, I feel that a good script and well made film has fallen into the wrong hands,” he says.

According to Jaggesh, the Kannada film industry has very few genuine and dedicated film producers. Most of them invest money after borrowing from various sources and are interested in recovering it. “It is the same case with the producers of Software Ganda. They don’t have much knowledge of movies but still borrowed money from people taking our names and are now struggling to release it. In fact, this is what is happening for most of the Kannada films today.”

“Sandalwood has eight to 10 commercial artistes and people who want to turn producers use the actors names to take money. They also make money from satellite rights and struggle later. As actors even we get a bad name. Today, around 20 Kannada films are made by genuine producers and the rest of the 80 have investments from people who have no idea about filmmaking, which is very harmful for the industry,” he says.

Software Ganda is directed by Venkatesh who is also co-producer of the film along with Ramappa and Sampath Kumar. Actress Nikita Thukral is the female lead in the film.
