Having won critical acclaim and multiple awards for his 2011 film, Sanju Weds Geetha, actor-director Nagashekhar is all set to embark on his next venture, which will also be a part of the Sanju-Geetha series. Retaining the flavour of the blockbuster, he has titled his upcoming film Sanju Mathu Geetha - Part II, as a tribute to the popular song in his previous foray. “We had a small pooja for this project a fortnight ago and it will be directed by my brother Ramchiru.
The film will be made under the banner of Nagashekhar Movies, which the actor-director is on the verge of registering. “Though the formalities are still pending, I would like to announce that Kriti Kharbanda is on board while I play the part of the hero. From the beginning, I had Kriti in mind. But in between, the actress felt that she could not accommodate dates. So nothing was confirmed. However, when I discussed the film again and her dates, she agreed to be on board,” says Nagashekhar, adding, “We have finished talks with Kriti and the official announcement will be made once we sign the agreement.”
Though Nagashekhar is not forthcoming with details of the project, he reveals that Kriti will have a meaty role. “The film is based on a real life incident and the actress plays a blind girl. Another interesting aspect of the film is that the entire love story takes place in Namma Metro,” he discloses, adding that he is already doing the rounds seeking permission for the shoot.
The first schedule of the film will begin from mid-March. “I am planning to shoot a song in Kashmir, which will be in June or July as it is the best time of the season,” he states. Nagashekhar has planned a huge cast for the film. “Anant Nag will be playing a major role. I am working towards roping in other stars including Sadhu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu, Arun Sagar, Bullet Prakash, Tabla Nani and Chikkanna. Good casting is very important because it will enhance the quality of the film.” he says.
