One just cannot tell director Pavan Wadeyar to rest when he has come up with a thought. So, while one would think that Pavan would opt for a well-deserved break after the success of Rana Vikrama, the talented director has surprised everyone by starting work on his next project, Jessie. Pavan is currently working on the music with Anoop Seelin, with whom he was previously associated for Googly. “The music is coming out very well. Anoop is a natural composer. One can never see a shade of another song in his music. He had given wonderful background music for Googly and I am happy to associate with him again,” says Pavan.

is new venture comes with a tagline - ‘A gift of love’. While Dhananjay and Parul Yadav have already been roped in for the project, Pavan has also signed on Raghu Mukherjee to complete the triangle. According to the director, the name could be misleading prompting assumptions that it would be a female-centric film, but he clarifies and says, “Jessie is the name of Dhananjay’ character. It is a beautiful love story between three individuals. We have roped in Vaidy as the cinematographer and hope to go on floors from July 15,” he says.

Rana Vikrama to make way for Vajrakya

Producer Jayanna and Bogendra has had back-to-back successes with Mr and Mrs Ramachari featuring Yash and Radhika Pandit followed by Rana Vikrama starring Puneeth Rajkumar which completed 50 days last week. Director Pavan is cherishing the success with his film as he says, “I have been overwhelmed by response to the film. All credit goes to actor Puneeth, producer Jayanna and the whole team. Thankfully the audience appreciated that keeping a star like Puneeth, I tried and experimented a new trend in Kannada.” As Rana Vikrama will soon make way for Shivarajkumar’s Vajrakaya at Santhosh and a few other theatres, Pavan says, “I don’t think it is something new. Jayanna knows what to do. Today, the idea of a hit is not considered by the number of days but how people appreciate the film. More importantly, if the producer has got back his returns and also made profit, then the film is considered as a hit. In that way Rana Vikrama has achieved all of it,” he says.
