Rana Vikrama Song Dispute may be Resolved Today

A Sharadhaa

The makers of Rana Vikrama have responded to the plagiarism case filed by Velu of Lahari Music against producers, Jayanna-Bhogendra, music composer V Harikrishna and Pavan Wadeyar, the director of the film, alleging that they have used two similar tunes and a few lines of songs, from two well-known films. One is said to be Jagave Ondu Ranaranga, written and composed by Hamsalekha from the film Ranaranga; and another song from Telugu film Seetharamayyagaari Manavuralu, for which the music was composed by MM Keeravani.  The copyrights of both the songs are under Lahari Audio. The makers of Rana Vikrama came forward to settle the matter with the music company on Friday.

Producer Jayanna says, “Negotiations are on with Lahari audio. We have been discussing about the two songs, which they consider a case of plagiarism. The matter will definitely be sorted out today.”

Velu says, “We have put forward our views and we made producers Jayanna and Bogendra listen to the two songs. We now want to release the two songs of Rana Vikrama through our company, for which they need to get an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from V Harikrishna, the music director of Rana Vikrama. The music is being released under the label, D Beats. If everything is legally sorted and the makers solve the matter today, the two songs of Rana Vikrama will be back online.”

So the good news is: the songs will be  back online, everything seems to be sorted out and the makers solved the matter.

Rana Vikrama made with a huge budget will soon be ceritified by the censors while the makers are gearing up for a gala release. The film stars Puneeth Rajkumar, Anjali and Adah Sharma in the lead roles with Vikram Singh playing the antagonist. The film also sees Rangayana Raghu, Girish Karnad and Charan Raj among the starcast.
