The film will be simultaneously screened at 100 plus theatres overseas on its day of release in September across Karnataka

As films like Rangitaranga and Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu revives the overseas market for Kannada industry,

Mungaru Male 2 has only added a booster with the film releasing in 100 theatres simultaneously on the same day of release in Karnataka. According to Mungaru Male 2 director, Shashank, this is the first-of-its-kind release for a Kannada cinema. He says, "While a few films released recently have received a good response outside, it was the teaser of our film that garnered attention, and a few overseas distributors enquired about its release. Out of which we tied up with 7 Hills Entertainment."

Mungaru Male 2 will be releasing in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Africa, UK, Europe, France, Belgium, Germany, Canada, USA, Sweden and Ireland among other places.

Shashank feels it is a proud moment for the Kannada industry.

"It is time, we start thinking big," says the director, adding, "Recently, we did have a few films releasing overseas, but not simultaneously.  The plus point is that Mungaru Male had already created a brand outside India when it was released in 2006. So we did anticipate a buzz overseas when were ready with Mungaru Male 2. Of course, it needs a lot of planning." The makers are also planning to release the movie in six cities outside Karnataka.

"We are looking at Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Goa, from where we have been getting enquiries," he says.

The Ganesh and Neha Shetty starrer also features Ravichandran in a pivotal role.
