love in wee shots

Four stories, in Tarun Sudhir's debut directorial, will be on love in different times

A Sharadhaa

Tarun Sudhir, roping in 25 technicians for his film Chowka, the 50th film made under Dwarakish Chitra, has an ensemble cast of  four heroes and heroines. The debutant director does not reveal the story, but says that it will show four dimensions of love, and they take place in different time periods. We get tidbits on each pair.

Retro Love - Prem and Aindrita Ray

The love story between Prem and Aindrita Ray explores the love of the 80s, which takes place in Bengaluru. The romance of the 1986 is very conservative. An interesting romance from a time when passion was unspoken and mostly expressed through the eyes and gestures. So it makes for a cute love story.

Married women and a college boy - Priyamani and Diganth

Tarun brings Priyamani and Diganth in a story that takes place in 1995. "This is about a college boy, who is attracted to a married woman," he says. "Though it is about their love, their relationship has different layers."

Rich man's love for a middle-class girl - Vijay Raghavendra and Bhavana

The love story of 2000 takes place in Mangaluru that brings in Vijay Raghavendra and Bhavana as a pair. "While Vijay Raghavendra plays a multimillionaire, Bhavana is a middle-class engineering student. What happens when the two fall in love is what the movie explores," says Tarun.

Religion Pact - Prajwal Devaraj and Deepa Sannidhi

The 2007 story, which happens in Bijapur, has Prajwal Devaraj and Deepa Sanidhi and talks about the love between a Hindu and a Muslim.

“This is one of the very interesting love stories in our film, which explores caste, society and the system. Bringing all of them together will make for an interesting climax,” says Tarun. “Though the heroines have been part of solo projects, they wanted to be part of Chowka. Even though each has just 15 minutes of screen space in the film, each actress plays a powerful role.”

A mega audio launch has been planned for Ganesh festival. Tarun has brought in Gurukiran, V Harikrishna, Arjun Janya, Anup Seelin and Sambram  V Sridhar to score the music. He has dialogue writers AP Arjun, Simple Suni, Anil Kumar, AV Chintan and Yoganand in his team. The art directors for the film are Arun Sagar, Mohan B Kere, Ravi Sante Haiklu, Shivakumar and Hosmane Murthy. KM Prakash is the movie's editor and Arjun Janya will do its background score.
