I Am Close to Half Century: Nikita

A Sharadhaa

Nanda Kishore, all set for Mukunda Murari, a Hindi remake of Oh My God!,  has roped in Nikita Thukral to play the female lead. She is paired opposite Upendra in the film, which also sees Sudeep in a lead role. The pair has previously worked together in Dubai Babu.

Nikita, in town, will be joining the sets from today. She told City Express that Oh My God! in Hindi was a good film and that's why she chose to work in the remake. "It has been long since I signed a Kannada film.  My last was Ring Road Suma. When I was offered this role in Mukunda Murari and learnt of the star cast and creative set, I said okay," she says. She plays a 'sweet homely girl'.

Nikita, meanwhile, has completed dubbing for her Hindi film Traffic, a Malayalam remake and is waiting for its release, likely in April. But what she's excited about is that she's almost upon her half-century mark.

"I have just signed my 49th film in Malayalam opposite Jayaram, and I will reach 50 with one more film," says the actor. "I am very proud of myself. Being a girl from Mumbai, I managed to establish myself in all South Indian languages.  I am taking time to select my 50th project and want it to be special."

Mukunda Murari, produced by M N Kumar and senior producer Jayasri Devi, will be shot in Bengaluru, Mysuru and other places.
