While there are actors, who can’t make it big with films, and make it big on television, there are a bunch of youngsters who have made the transition from the small screen to cinema and made it big. Viraat belongs to such a breed of actors. He is making a big leap from tele-serials to cinema after being chosen by AP Arjun for Kiss. The young actor was selected from around 4,000 youngsters who had applied for the
hero’s role. “I had gone through as many as 3,000 mails before I zeroed in on Viraat,” says Arjun. Hailing from Mysuru, Viraat was part of the tele-serial Jothe Jotheyalli aired on Zee Kannada. He has been undergoing training for the four months, preparing to face the arclights. “My Kiss hero is all set to face the camera soon. I am now in search of the right heroine,” he says.
Apparently, Viraat caught Arjun's mother's attention, who thought he would fit the bill. "While I was travelling to different places on audition, Viraat would come home asking for me, but could meet in his eight visit to my house. I asked him to attend the audition and he did. Out of 3,000 youngsters, we finalised 120 and then narrowed it down to six. Viraat was picked from the last six. My mother also felt that he would be the right choice and I went by her judgment," he says.
Produced by V Ravi Kumar under Rashtrakuta Pictures banner, Kiss has music scored by V Harikrishna and Girish Gowda as its cinematographer.
