Vinnod Prabhakar Pins his Hopes on Tyson

Having struggled to carve a niche for himself in Sandalwood, the son of veteran actor Prabhakar has given everything for his upcoming film.

A Sharadhaa

Vinnod Prabhakar is an actor who knows that bearing his father’s name is not enough to get that elusive big break. The fourteen- films-old actor, who has struggled through bad times, is now looking forward to his next film, Tyson, even as the memory of his father remains only a small solace as a hand to hold on to.

The actor feels that being Prabhakar’s son has only heightened expectations from him. “The pressure is so much that people want to see my father in me all the time. They expect the same success rate of his 500 films to be made in my one film, which is not possible. I might have his traits but I cannot exactly act like him and build an image although I have tried my best in Tyson,” he says.

And he is confident that the film will take him to the next level. “Tyson helped to transform myself. I really wanted to look different for which, I did my home work. It included losing 8 to 10 kilos and get a lean figure. The makeover is also reflected with my hairstyle. Moreover, director

K Ramnarayan, who studied my career graph, suggested that I give up on rugged characters and go subtle for this film and it has only turned out to be good for me,” he says.

The actor feel that the film has all the right ingredients for a family drama including a  good story, ensemble cast and the right technicians. “Along with Gayathri Iyer playing the female lead, we have three music directors. Ravi Basrur has given the background score and also scored the title song while

Ganesh Narayan has given two songs. Jessie Gift has composed couple of them. We also have three stunt masters -- Palani Raj, Mass Maada and Thriller Manju who have choreographed some good fights,” he reveals.

Interestingly, the film also brings back Prabhakar to life, playing father to the character of Vinnod. “Computer graphics were used extensively. The director, who managed to get hold of some good clippings of my father’s previous films, added it to the film, which blends with the story. And when I watched the film, I had tears in my eyes. If my father were alive, I wouldn’t have struggled so much. My entry has been difficult but patience is what is taking me forward,” he says.
