Russian model Angelina Desedina has been selected, after clearing auditions, for Gurunandan-starrer Raju Kannada Medium. The film already features Avantika Shetty and Ashika Ranganath, and Angelina will be the third heroine who will star opposite the actor.

The film crew, back from a shoot abroad, has just completed the talkie portions and one song with the model-turned-actress and Gurunandan. The team will share snaps of Gurunandan and Angelina closer to the release date, according to producer K A Suresh.

The filmmakers wanted to ensure that the female leads suit the setting in which they will be placed. “Therefore, we have Ashika as a school-going girl in Malnad, Avantika in Bengaluru and Angelina as a foreigner who speaks English,” says Suresh. “There have always been village boys going to big cities, and a similar current trend now is techies going to the US on work. This is the character Gurunandan plays in the film.”

Meanwhile, the teaser of Raju Kannada Medium has crossed five lakh views and has been well-received by the techies, especially those residing abroad. “They could relate to it, from their own experiences from when they first stepped outside India,” says Suresh. “In fact, they are in touch with the team and they want to promote Raju Kannada Medium outside the country.”
With the shooting nearly completed and the movie in post-production stage, Raju Kannada Medium will hopefully be out in May.
