MALAYALAM movie Swantham Lekhakan by cinematographer turned director P Sukumar with Dileep in the lead role has been scripted by Kalavoor Ravikumar.

Recently the members of the film including the director P Sukumar and Kalavoor Ravikumar were addressing the press in Kochi with regard to promoting the movie Swa Le.

The noted scriptwriter said that the movie was based on real life incidents which he was involved in while working for a small daily.

In the movie, Unni Madhavan (Dileep) is a journalist working with the Jana Chintha daily in the 80s, who slogs to make ends meet. His pregnant wife Vimala (Gopika) starts experiencing bouts of anxiety and depression, as her husband’s erratic work schedule forces him to stay away from her for long periods of time. Unni finds his life turned upside down all on a sudden, when he is assigned the task of covering a story on celebrated writer Palazhi Sivasankara Pillai (Nedumudi Venu), who is on his death bed.

Said Kalavoor, ‘The movie is all about the chaotic happening s in the lives of pressmen as they fight to get the best exclusives and stories, risking their lives. I have added one incident that I really experienced. “I have given the movie an satirical touch, but the first reports are that it is well received by Kerala audience, who always love good films made with a heart.’’ Well, here is one where reel life takes inspiration from real life.
