KOLLAM: Cine actor Manoj K Jayan has been selected for the Bharat Murali award instituted by the Bharat Murali Smaraka Samithi and Kanjaveli AKG Kalakendram. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.10,001 and a memento designed by KV Jyothilal.
Jury chairman Dr N Jayadevan, Samithi president KK Rajendran, KV Jyothilal, secretary Baiju Joseph and K Sajiv Kumar told a news conference here on Friday that Manoj’s portrayal of Thalakkal Chanthu in ‘Pazhassi Raja’ made him eligible for the award.
Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran will present the award at a ceremony to be held at Kanjaveli on January 8 at 6 PM.
