The trio’s on-screen chemistry is deeply indebted to their friendship that started some twenty years ago, when all three started their careers as assistant directors. They ensured their bond remained,  even though one of them turned into a busy actor. The other two elevated to the status of busy scriptwriters in Malayalam. The three friends- actor Dileep and scriptwriters Udaykrishna and Sibi K Thomas are teaming up once again hoping to create boxoffice magic with ‘Mayamohini’, their  15th film together that hits screens all over the state this Saturday.

“The three of us know each other very well, including our strengths and weaknesses. We have the freedom between us to have healthy discussions and heated debates. In fact, we are close enough to quarrel and even part if we wish. Though that is the last thing on our minds,” says Udaykrishna.

This sense of perfect understanding has given them the confidence to experiment  in ‘Mayamohini’, which has Dileep appearing as a lady in a majority of the scenes. “Dileep is an actor who likes to experiment within his limitations. His confidence was the key for us to create ‘Mayamohini’,” adds Uday.

Directed by Jose Thomas who made successful comic capers like ‘Udhayapuram Sulthan’, ‘Mattuppetty Machan’ and ‘Sundharapurushan’, the film will see Dileep portraying the title role.

“Balakrishnan (Biju Menon) is in a crisis as every business he enters, flops. The North Indian girl whom he is supposed to marry also dumps him after learning about his debts. At this point of time, Mayamohini enters his life. Balakrishnan falls in love with the beautiful Mohini. But Mohini has her own intentions and that forms the crux of the movie,” says Uday. Lakshmi Rai and Mythili are the heroines in the film. Baburaj portrays the role of Lakshminarayan, an advocate.  Hopes are high from the movie, as Dileep did come up a winner with his gender-bending experiment in ‘Chanthupottu’ in 2005. Now it remains to be seen if the trio weaves their magic again.
