Script writers Bobby and Sanjay dedicate their first State film award to their beloved uncle Babychayan, better known as Jose Prakash, who passed away nearly four months ago. Incidentally ‘Traffic’ was the last film of Jose Prakash, the elder brother of their father Prem Prakash, as an actor.
Though this is the sixth time that the state award for screenplay is being shared by a team consisting of more than one writer, it is the first instance where two brothers share the award. Traffic, a multi- narrative thriller told how an incident affects the lives of many persons in a day’s time.
The brothers were happy and excited while talking to Express from the sets of their latest film ‘Ayalum Njanum Thammil’ directed by Lal Jose. “We believe this is a blessing of Babychayan who wished us to be in the film field. We were fully satisfied with our script though it was a tedious effort because of its style of narration”, says Bobby who is also a doctor by profession.
“Our inspiration was a real incident which appeared as a newspaper article. It took nearly a year for completing the script as there were lot of hindrances in between. But now the joy is doubled as the film was well received by the audience too ”, says Sanjay.
Both of them expressed their gratitude to two men behind ‘Traffic’. “Director Rajesh Pillai gave us courage when we were in doubt and he finetuned it into a better product. Moreover, the project would not have been materialised, if Listin Stephen did not turn up as Producer.
This was a project rejected by many producers,” says Bobby and Sanjay.
