Kalyanam, a romantic comedy that will mark the debut of Shravan Mukesh, will have him sharing screen space with his father Mukesh.While Mukesh plays the heroine’s father, actor Sreenivasan will play Shravan’s father.
The pooja function of Kalyanam was held in Thiruvananthapuram the other day. Shravan’s father Mukesh, mother Saritha and grandmother Vijayakumari attended the function. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was the chief guest of the event.
The movie directed by Rajesh Nair is a very family subject. He says: “After Escape from Uganda, I wanted to do this subject. This has been in my mind for the past four years,” he adds. The director says that he met Shravan recently and instantly felt he suited the role of the protagonist in Kalyanam. “He has that ‘Boy Next Door’ image and when I discussed the film with him, he sounded confident. We are sure that he can pull it off,” says Rajesh Nair.
Varsha Bollamma will play the female lead. She is famous for her dubsmash videos. “My wife Usha, who is also the creative director of the film, showed me Varsha’s dubsmash video. I shared it with cameraman Vinayachandran and immediately decided on her.”
Kalyanam marks the debut of Telugu producer K K Radhamohan in Mollywood. This is Rajesh Nair’s third movie after Escape from Uganda and Salt Mango Tree.
First look out: The first look of Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela, directed by Althaf Salim, is out. The movie has Nivin Pauly, Ahana Krishnakumar and Aishwarya Lakshmi playing lead roles. It is expected to hit the screens during Onam.
