Surabhi Lakshmi, who won the National Award for the Best Actor for her performance in Minnaminung, seems to have left director Jibu Jacob in awe. The super hit director, who watched the movie, was impressed by Surabhi’s acting skills that he took to the social media to praise her.
In a Facebook post, Jibu said Surabhi has single-handedly carried the movie on her shoulders without a strong supporting cast or a renowned director or cinematographer. “She has skilfully portrayed the character, thereby earning the National Award. As a Malayali, I am proud of her and her performance which stays in our minds even after the movie ends,” he said.
The director also promoted the movie by saying that it has to be watched in theatres and the people should encourage the cast and crew of the movie.
Minnaminung, directed by Anil Thomas, has Surabhi playing a single mother. Her performance had also won her the special jury mention from the State Government.
