This maybe a film title that reminds one of a onetime TV programme, but 'Oliyum Oliyum' is a film with a patriotic touch. At a media interaction about the film, director Sakthi Chellam disclosed details about his new venture.

Chellam has made ‘A Royal Salute’, a short film, which had Kiran Bedi as the guest of honour for the function. This is his first feature film starring newcomers Mohan and Aswathy apart from veteran Nagesh’s son Anand Babu who returns to the screen after a hiatus.

The highlight of the film is the role played by the renowned social worker Balam Kalyanasundaram who agreed to this film due to its special subject. “I have refused many offers by people in the film industry earlier but I am very happy to be acting in this film,” said Kalyanasundaram.

The film also has a role played by a hearing and speech impaired girl. Chellam termed the media meet an arimughavizha and screened some songs and scenes from his film which is set in the pre-independence era. The film has been shot extensively in the Ramoji Film City. The music is by Yani Desh.
