Movie buff s waiting to hear power packed dialogues from Suresh Gopi can make a beeline for theatres as ‘IG’ hits theatres today. The movie based on the current threat of terrorism in India, is dedicated to the martyrs who lost their lives defending the country against militants.

Directed and scripted by B Unnikrishnan of ‘Madambi’ fame, the film is a comeback vehicle for veteran actor Lakshmi who dons the role of IG Durga Prasad’s (played by Suresh Gopi) mother.

The movie also boasts of a line of young blood like John Kokken, Padmasurya and Ashish Vidhyarthi. Veteran actors such as Jagathy, Devan, Sai Kumar and Vijayaraghavan are also part of the cast. John, the brash villain in ‘Love in Singapore,’ plays a Pakistani terrorist in the film.

IG is a cop story which shows how youth are trained by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Pakistan to be sent as suicide bombers to various parts of India. The movie, produced by Mahi under the banner of Super films, will be released in 65 theatres across the state on Friday.
