"I am perhaps the only sardar still going strong on screen in the ad world for the past ten years," claims Manmeet Singh. He's the popular face and also known as the India Bulls Sardar, after the ad he did. With 16 films (including Ram Gopal Varma's Jungle and the rescent 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'), Manmeet Singh has also done TV serials like 'Yeh Meri Life Hai' and  Kareena Kareena. So whats this sardar doing in Kollywood?

"I played the role of Jogi's uncle who hugs everyone  in 'Abhiyum Naanum'," he grins excitedly. Recalling how the role came his way, he says, "Radha Mohan had auditioned over 60 sardars in Mumbai but was not happy. Someone told them about me and they told me to come to Chennai. I told them I didn’t know Tamil.  But they told me I didn't have to speak Tamil in the film at all since the character speaks Punjabi. I accepted immediately." From then on it was a cakewalk for this Sardar. "I used to improvise on my own dialogues in the film. Whatever I do at home, I did the same on the sets. I am the happy-go-lucky type of person and I too hug my friends in the same way, so the entire shooting was one big fun experience for me," he laughs.

Manmeet would love to do more Tamil films if roles come his way. Any takers, anyone?
