DIRECTOR of Appavi, R Raghuraj says the film (Appavi) would create waves and he is planning to take two more series and will release it by the end of 2010. “This is the first time a trilogy is being made in Tamil films.

The producer will be the same and we’re yet to confirm the cast for other two films,” said Raghuraj, who adds, “Appavi is a film with a message.” The theme of this trilogy is Red, White and Green.

The director trained the newcomer Gowtham, the hero of the movie, for 340 hours.

“Raghuraj sir gave me training for three months and I learnt a lot,” says the second year college student, who plays the same in the movie. The highlight of the movie is the longest national flag (1115 feet) used for a song, which features 500 college students. “We got the cloth from Surat and it was a bit difficult to shoot. The students were very conscious of not dropping it,” adds the director.

Director K Bhagyaraj plays a pivotal role in the film. Newcomer Suhani from Hyderabad is the heroine. Music by Joshua Sridhar, Devi Visions’ ECR VL Dhandapani produces the film.
