THIS is the first time a spoof film is being made in Tamil. “While this genre is well-known in Hollywood, this is taken for the first time in India,” says the director CS Amudhan, a creative director of an ad agency now stepping into direction.
“It’s a celebration of Tamil cinema,” adds the director, who assures laugher aplenty to the audiences after watching the film .
Dayanidhi Azhagiri produces the movie under the banner Cloud 9 Movies, and Nirav Shah handles the camera.
Kannan is making his debut as music director with this film.
“He (Kannan) is well-known in the ad films for his jingles and he has produced four albums and one score of theme music,” adds Amudhan. The highlight of the film is said to be hero Shiva’s bhara- thanatyam perfor mance. Disha Pandey from Mumbai debuts as the heroine. Actress Kasthuri has done an item song in a revealing clothes.
The audiences can see actors MS Bhaskar, Vennir Aadai Murthy and Manobala in a different role—as college students.
The audio of the film was released by Kamal Haasan and received by director KS Ravikumar.
Tamil Padam is set to hit the screens in January and assures only laughter.
