DIRECTOR turned actor Tarun Gopi was in his element at the audio launch of 'Mayandi Kudumbathar' . The film stars ten directors who have turned heroes with this film, creating a history of sorts in cinema. The audio launch at the AVM Studios was delayed by a few hours when the cast and crew decided to wait for one of the director cum hero, Seeman, to arrive.

Rasu Maduravanan, the director, came in for high praise by all. Tarun Gopi who debuts as hero in this film spoke freely about the woes of directors who have to put up with star tantrums. “Films like ours and recently made ones with strong scripts will prove that cinema is not dependant on heroes but needs good directors and producers for a film to click.” He gave examples about stars from his previous films to underscore how a film suffers due to star tantrums.

Mayandi Kudumbathars’ ten director- actors seemed very co-operative with each other due to which the shoot went off without a hitch. The only hitch came when Seeman was arrested but the crew managed to overcome such delays adroitly. Director Jagannathan reminisced, “Maduravanan knew the script by heart. I never saw him referring to any notes or being tense at any point.”

Sabesh Murali have scored the music. Said they, “The director actually cried when he narrated the story to us.” The duo have composed six songs out of which three were screened. This United Artists film will be out soon.
