CHENNAI: Filmmaker Sasikumar commenced his directorial venture with ‘Subramaniapuram’, which has now become one of the best Indian movies of this decade. It was also his maiden production venture.

He followed it up with ‘Pasanga’, which he had produced. After nearly three years, Sasikumar is back as a director and is ready with the release of his next film 'Easan'.

Unlike his previous movies, ‘Easan’ has been completely shot in Chennai. This is his first city-based film. The film focuses on contemporary lifestyle of various socio-economic classes in Chennai.

Shedding light on the new film, Sasikumar says that there are two ways to feed the kids. One is with promises and cajoling. The other way is by frightening the children that if they don’t eat, ghosts would take them away. ‘Easan’ belongs to the second category.

Sasikumar is also the producer of the film.

'Easan' hits the screens on December 17.
