Actor Prashanth is pleased not just with the response to his film Mambattiyan but also with the fact that he has emerged victorious in a few legal battles over his film.  His film, a remake of his father’s Malaiyur Mambattiyan, was directed and produced by his dad, Thyagarajan, himself.

However, Mambattiyan is based on a real story and the film ran into controversies which threatened its release. However, all that has been sorted out now. Says the actor, “All’s well that ends well. One of the cases was filed by the son of Mambattiyan himself. His arguement was that his father’s character had been wrongly portrayed in the film.

But their allegation was rejected as they did not have enough proof. The other two cases also were dismissed,” says Prashanth.

The actor is happy with the response from his fans. “This is the kind of comeback my fans were looking forward to. I felt so happy when theatre owners conveyed their satisfaction,” says the actor.
