CHENNAI: South Indian actor Vimal got married to the love of his life in true filmi style.
Vimal reportedly eloped with his girlfriend Akshaya and married her. The couple tied the knot at the Swamimalai Temple located in Kumbakonam on the 12th of December. Vimal and Akshaya have been in love for almost a year and a half. The decision to run away and marry surprised the fans because the girl was a relative of his.
In a statement to the media, Vimal explains that their relationship has always been an issue within the family since Akshaya was his relative. Akshaya’s parents were searching for a groom for her. Therefore, the actor was left with no choice but to marry her secretly.
On the career front, he is busy with the filming of ‘Ethan’.
Vimal revealed that the decision to marry was taken only three days before they ran away. While parental consent was an issue, he was particular about getting married before the month of Karthigai ended on December 14.
