Anushka, Tamannah among Kalaimamani winners

The actresses along with Malavika, Arya, Rajiv Menon and Karunaas will receive the state awards on February 13.

CHENNAI: Actors Tamanna, Anushka, Malavika, Arya and Karunas are among those who have been selected for the Kalaimamani awards for 2008, 2009 and 2010.

The awards will be presented to them by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at a function scheduled for February 13.

Along with this, he will also present Small Screen Awards announced recently and Bharathi award, MS Subbulakshmi award and Balasaraswathi award.

As many as 25 artistes drawn from various disciplines have been chosen for Kalaimamani awards for 2008. Comedian Karunas, film director Thirumurugan, music director Bharadwaj, cinematographer Rajiv Menon, writer Rani Mainthan, poet Senguttuvan, small screen artiste Robo Shankar are among the winners.

For 2009, 23 artistes have been chosen for the award. Comedian Chinni Jayanth, actors Saranya, Rohini, Malavika, Poovilangu Mohan and Sakshi Siva, writers S Kandasamy, Rajeshkumar and Nanjil Nadan, small screen artiste Revathi Sankaran are among the winners of the award.

For 2010, 26 artistes will get Kalaimamani awards. Actors Tamanna, Anushka and Arya, dramatist Prasanna Ramaswamy, Veena player Rajesh Vaidya, spiritual orators Mangaiyarkkarasi and S Sathyaseelan, Tamil scholar Tamizhannal and Dindigul I Leoni are among the recipients.
