Director Tharun Gopi, who turned actor with 'Mayaandi Kudumbathar', seems to be intent on making progress.
The man, who proved to the industry that he was equally good at acting as he was at directing, is all set to impress again in 'Pechiyakka Marumagan'.
The film is being directed by Balakumar and produced by Mannan Film Production. Apart from acting, Tarun has also scripted the story and the dialogues for this film.
Priyanka, a new face will play the female lead. Susan of 'Mynaa' fame and Thambi Ramaiah will also be playing pivotal roles in this film.
Another highlight of this film is actress Urvashi, who will be playing the role of Pechiyakka, one of the lead characters.
Talking about the story, Tharun says, “The plot revolves around a friendly relationship that exists between a mother-in-law and her son-in-law. Unlike other films where there is a lot of gory scenes and unwanted rivalry between families, this film will focus on the sentiments and the emotional bonding between a mother and her daughter and their relatives.”
Shot in the scenic locales of Kambankudalur, a village near Theni, the music for the film has been composed by Sabesh Murali.
Tharun, after this film, is bound to return to direction.
The director-turned-actor, who has directed movies like Thimuru and Kaalai, will next direct 'Veri'.
“I'm not acting in 'Veri' but just like my previous films, 'Veri' will have a big star cast. Currently, the film is in its pre-production stage,” said the actor.
