If you thought all the action in Chennai was at the MAC stadium, where the star-studded finale (and finals) of the Champions League T20 took place on Sunday night, you would be mistaken.

Almost two hours before the cricket began, the excitement levels were peaking at Park Sheraton. Why? Because Bollywood beauty and Nokia’s brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra was there to meet the winners of the 'Nokia Ke Asli Champions’ contest.

They weren’t the only ones present as a large bunch of student fans, who got wind of the event, stood by the entrance of the banquet hall, to catch a glimpse of the star. “They won’t let us in, can I come in saying I’m your sister?” one school goer requested in hopeful desperation.

When PC did finally arrive, ravishing as always, there was frenzied activity. Within moments, she was on stage. “I’m really excited to be here and watching the finals with the winners,” she said in a brief statement to the audience, before being whisked away backstage.

They say that stars can be reluctant and overbearing. However, Piggy Chops seemed as comfortable answering questions in a hotel’s greenroom, as having a conversation in her own living room.

Has she ever played cricket herself?

“No. Well, once, but I was really bad at it,” she laughs. “My favourite cricketers are Rahul Dravid, he’s always dependable, and Gautham Gambhir too.”

And although, she has been rated as India’s best dressed, the actress is quite clear about the fact that shopping is not her idea of a fun time. “But, I do give a lot of gifts,” she smiles. “My family calls me Santa Claus!”

So, is Chopra K-town bound anytime soon? The actress admits that anything is possible. “I love the music that you have in your films,” she stresses. Then quickly adds, “Honestly, if there was one thing I would worry about while acting in a Kollywood film, it would be keeping up with the dance moves that your heroes have here. They are so good!”
