CHENNAI: Popular Tamil actress Gandhimathi died at her residence here today after prolonged illness, family sources said.
Known for her fine portrayal of character roles, the 65-year-old actress had acted in several films including blockbusters like 'Karakattakaran', 'Manikkam', 'Walter Vetrivel', 'Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi', 'Agal Vilaku' and 'Porter Ponnusami.'
She is survived by her two adopted sons, they said.
