Finally, peace prevails at Charan’s home. The producer-cum-singer seems to be heaving a sigh of relief with Sona choosing to withdraw her case against him.

Apparently, the actress has withdrawn the sexual assault case that she filed against Charan and has also given up her threat of staging a dharna in front of his home with volunteers from a women’s organisation. Charan, who has been tight-lipped about the issue right from the time the controversy started, finally spoke out.

Talking to City Express, he said, “I’m relieved and knew that she would withdraw the case. We tried explaining to her from day one that such issues would spoil our friendship. But she didn’t listen and once again, my friends spoke to her and advised her not to invite more trouble. Hence, the case is closed!”

Sona, on the other hand, told City Express, “I got what I wanted from SP Charan and therefore have chosen to withdraw my complaint. However, if Charan levels allegations against me in the future, I too will respond in kind.”

But the actress-cum-producer seems to have trained her guns next on director Venkat Prabhu, who she says will have to either direct a film for her or return her money which she paid as advance.

Meanwhile, Charan seems to be making plans for his wedding. Says the producer, “Plans for my marriage are on at home. I had kept it on hold because of these issues. Now that it is over, my parents will soon find a bride.”
