CHENNAI: The latest buzz on Samaran is that its director Thiru is trying to rope in Panna Rittikrai of Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior fame in this film. The director is said to be in talks with the martial arts choreographer and sources claim that an official announcement regarding this would be made very soon. Thiru has already directed Vishal in his first movie Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai and Samaran has Vishal and Trisha in the lead.
Meanwhile, Thiru and Vishal have managed to rope in Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee for the film. “We were looking for an actor to suit this particular role. Finally, we decided to cast Manoj Bajpayee. I would not say this is a negative role. It is a powerful role and has equal importance as that of Vishal’s role,” said Thiru.
Actor JD Chakravarthy of Sathya fame also plays a pivotal role in Samaran. “Both Manoj Bajpayee and JD Chakravarthy are coming together in Samaran after their successful combination in Sathya. Both their roles are important in this film. Currently, we are shooting in Bangkok and hope to be back in India by March,” informed Thiru.
